  • Sublime Competence

This Accord has made me happy. I had to purchase it quickly after my A5 was totaled and my insurance company gave me little time in a rental. With mostly around town driving I was able to see how having the torque down low was of great benefit. I traveled to Austin to COTA and while on the toll roads 85 - 90 was comfortable and quiet. I kept driving on that tank until Thursday and was happy to avg 33.8 MPG of mixed Hwy and City. I tend to have a lead foot and obtaining that surprised me. I have played with many of the electronic systems and love the integration of these systems. If you explore the car systems, you will find items that will make ownership more enjoyable. Smooth when you want it, capable when you need it. HUGE trunk and backseat doesnt hurt.

We liked the Honda Accord EX-L, 1.5 VTEC so much, we bought an Obsidian Blue 2018 and a White Orchard Pearl 2019. Fuel mileage in both is much better than advertised. Peace-of-Mind safety, comfort, Driver visibility and convenience are remarkable. Honda is superb at vehicle optioned packaging and no non sense standard equipment. The interior and trunk are huge. The Honda Accord brakes and standard warning features are fantastic. The ride and design of the independent suspension build is luxury grade. The Accord is not just a low maintenance cost vehicle (Owned new 2013 & 2016 EX-L's), but it is built in the USA and will deliver high resale value return at Trade-in due to reliability, durability and Fun-To-Drive factor. Simply a great car!
  • Nice Car But Not For People With Back Problems

By Barry on Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Bought this 2019 Accord EX-L in October 2019 and since owning the car for three and a half months there are pluses and minuses with owning a new Accord. They sit very low to the ground so getting in and out will be a problem for people with back problems. Also, if you’re over 6’ tall you won’t be comfortable sitting in the car. Also, the 1.5 turbo engine has turbo lag which can be annoying. The CVT transmission is not my favorite and I wish Honda had used another tranny instead but not the 10 speed as is found in the 2.0 turbo models as those have had issues. Interior wise I’m very impressed with the dash layout and there are lots of soft touch materials. Trunk space is more than adequate which is a plus, as are the back seats. The car is the best handling one I’ve ever owned. The steering wheel feel is amazing. Yes there is some road noise but it doesn’t bother me and the car (at least mine) has a pretty smooth ride. The new design of the new 2018 thru 2020 is either you love it or hate it. I particularly like the fastback look. Gas milage is good in around town driving (I’m getting 22mpg) and even better on the highway (34mpg). I test drove a 2019 Camry and didn’t like it as much as the Accord.
